So before I start sounding like a total newb, I thought I'd post some photos of my little barrel racing gelding here and some other western stuff. We qualified for the big shows back in the day, but I never had the money to trailer. Now that I'm riding english the poor boy is being pampered by little kids Glare

Here's Diesel! He's a 12 year old quarter horse. 15hh

Cool great to see some western pics! I love western a couple of my good friends barrel race & another does reining. I love QH I was lucky enough to grow up next to a cutting farm & QH stud really cool horses. You should get back into it Dove as it looks like you guys were a pretty good team.BigGrin

Love the South Island xmas circuit spent may a happy time at SI rodeos ahh the good old days!!LOL

Reining is a blast! Same with cutting but I don't know a thing about it. Thankfully it's so bred into my horse that I just have to sit there and point at which steer I want and he does the rest of the work.

I'd love to be able to bring him down and use him for western while I found an eventing horse but until I win the lottery he's going to have to be a pasture puff...:(

Be fun to try western... did use to barrel race a bit as a kid every year at the local rodeo!
